…and it was all over

…and it was all over.

but when I saw you again
I wanted nothing other than
to feel the same way I had
that night in the park
under the stars, where I had
nothing but the cover of your body
to keep me warm from the
slight pang of chill against my skin.

and when I saw you again
I wanted nothing other than
to feel the moisture
of your lips against mine
as you kissed me under the starlight.

and when I saw you again
I wanted nothing other than
to hear the slow drumming of
your heart beating against mine,
as you held me in a tight embrace.

and when I saw you again
I wanted nothing other than
to hear the soft sound of your voice
as it hummed against my ear
words that melted my heart.

and when I saw you again
I wanted nothing other than
to see the smile on your face
and the sparkle in your eyes,
eyes that held onto mine
for a little longer that night.
